This painting uses mosaic shapes to create perspective and contrasts them with the two dimensionality of the sky forms. Although the landscape is modeled on the dessert scene, there are lots of nice blue sections which have an integrative influence on the relationship between land and sky. Just as the world that we perceive with our senses is supported by that which cannot be perceived, so the land area is supported by the universality of the blue which seems cosmic in proportion and permeating the solidity of the land.
