ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Donald E. Crim was educated at the Eastman School of Music, the University of Chicago, Ohio State University, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1957, and Cornell University, where he received his doctorate in Cultural Anthropology in 1973. He did field work among the Yir Yoront in Australia. Dr. Crim was instrumental in establishing the undergraduate curriculum and founding the Anthropology Department at Colorado State University. He taught at CSU from 1963 to 1997, and his areas of specialty were Native American studies, South Pacific culture, Anthropological theory, linguistics and ethnomusicology.
